It’s been over decade since the boy who lived ended his story. And yet, the Harry Potter cast are still followed and adored by fans, they’re in-demand for movies and shows, and they continue to rake in the millions.
They’ve all gone on to do amazing things respectively. So, where are the Harry Potter actors now?

30 Best ‘Harry Potter’ Characters Ranked
I’ve searched high and low (from Instagram to IMDb) to learn that Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint are literal fathers now (mind-blown!) and Maggie Smith is almost 90 years-old (goals!). Oh, and can we just take a sec to appreciate Neville Longbottom’s glow-up?
To catch up with the characters of your favorite saga and see what they’re doing, I’m taking a look at what the Harry Potter cast is up to now. Starting, obviously, with the beloved trio…
Harry Potter
Actor: Daniel Radcliffe
Age: 34
Net worth: $110 million
Dating: Erin Darke

Movies since: The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings, Horns, What If, Victor Frankenstein, Swiss Army Man, Now You See Me 2, Imperium, Jungle, Guns Akimbo, The Lost City
TV shows since: A Young Doctor’s Notebook & Other Stories, Mulligan, Miracle Workers
Call me biased, but I definitely can’t unsee Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. No matter what role he plays, he will always be the young wizard to me.
Since abandoning his broomstick, he hasn’t starred in many major movie series, but Daniel has still kept himself busy. He’s played in the horror film, The Woman in Black, the indie fantasy, Horns, and the critically acclaimed Swiss Army Man. His most popular role was in The Lost City, alongside Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock.
In his downtime, Daniel works for the stage, writes poetry, and participates in charity-work. Oher than being one of the world’s highest-paid actors, he’s become quite the handsome chap, too. The actor has been dating actress Erin Darke since 2012.
Hermione Granger
Actress: Emma Watson
Age: 34
Net worth: $85 million
Dating: Ryan Walsh (rumored)
Instagram: @emmawatson

Movies since: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, Noah, Colonia, Regression, Beauty and the Beast, The Circle, Little Women
Emma Watson hasn’t let the end of Harry Potter stop her from spreading her wings. She’s played a range of roles, from a West Coast spoiled brat in Bling Ring, to a quirky teenage misfit in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. More famously, the talented actress played Belle in Beauty and the Beast and in the remake of Little Women.
What separates Emma from her Harry Potter counterpart? Probably just her hair (it’s a lot tidier in real life!). Turns out, she’s just as much the genius outside the walls of Hogwarts, too – Emma swapped spell books for Bachelor studies, earning herself a degree in English Literature at Brown University.
Now, you’ll find her making gin (literally) with her brother, for her family-owned luxury gin brand, ‘Renais’. I mostly stan Emma for becoming an outspoken gender equality activist, creating the campaign #HeForShe, and becoming a Goodwill UN ambassador. She’s a real-life Hermione, indeed…

Ron Weasley
Actor: Rupert Grint
Age: 35
Net worth: $50 million
Married to: Georgia Groome
Instagram: @rupertgrint

Movies since: Into the White, Charlie Countryman, Moonwalkers, Knock at the Cabin
TV shows since: Sick Note, Snatch, Servant
Rupert is too good of an actor to play in such minor roles, but hey ho, at least he’s doing something with his talent these days.
The charming actor has featured in various films this past decade, including Into The White and Moonwalkers. Other than these low-key roles, Rupert recently appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin and in the popular series, Servant, a Primetime Emmy nominated show.
Since shelving the role of the adorable and hilarious Ron Weasley, Rupert has also made waves in both the West End and Broadway, starring in many acclaimed plays. Oh, and sorry ‘Romione’ shippers, but Rupert has been in a relationship with English actress, Georgia Groome since 2011, and the pair welcomed a baby in 2020.
Draco Malfoy
Actor: Tom Felton
Age: 36
Net worth: $20 million
Dating: Roxanne Danya Plit
Instagram: @t22felton

Movies since: Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Apparition, In Secret, Risen, A United Kingdom, Megan Leavey, Feed, The Forgotten Battle, Save the Cinema
TV shows since: Murder in the First, The Flash
Not only is Tom Felton now a Hollywood heartthrob, he’s one of the busiest members of the cast. A musician in his downtime (check out his Instagram!) with several EPs released for the pleasure of his fans, he’s also played in films such as The Apparition, In Secret, and the drama, Feed.
His biggest roles were in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and in the DC Comics series, The Flash. Tom has also notably produced and directed a documentary on Harry Potter fans called Tom Felton Meets the Superfan.
Several years, and darker hair later (and facial hair!), Tom Felton is now looking a lot different and kinder than the Draco Malfoy we all know and erm, hate.

Neville Longbottom
Actor: Matthew Lewis
Age: 34
Net worth: $2 million
Married to: Angela Jones
Instagram: @mattdavelewis

Movies since: Wasteland, Me Before You, Terminal
TV shows since: Bluestone 42, Ripper Street, All Creatures Great and Small
Round of applause, please, for the best Harry Potter glow-up ever! The actor who plays Neville Longbottom, Matthew Lewis, is making quite the buzz after showing off his transformation and looking far a cry from the adorably awkward and clumsy Neville he once was.
Since Harry Potter, Matthew has performed in various plays and starred in a few movies.
Although he isn’t on the big screen as much, he has featured in the BBC comedy, Bluestone 42 and British series, Ripper Street. Matthew famously had a small role in the romance movie, Me Before You and also starred in Terminal alongside Margot Robbie and Simon Pegg.
Petition for Matthew Lewis to be on our TV screens much more, please!
Ginny Weasley
Actress: Bonnie Wright
Age: 33
Net worth: $4 million
Married to: Andrew Lococo
Instagram: @thisisbwright

Movies since: After the Dark, Those Who Wander, Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?, A Christmas Carol
The beautiful Bonnie Wright, who plays Ron’s smart sister and Harry’s love interest, has starred in a few indie movies since Harry Potter closed its curtains. She has also taken the stage for the 2013 play, The Moment of Truth.
Other than modelling during 2011’s London Fashion Week, Bonnie completed her Bachelor of Arts in filmmaking at the London College of Communication in 2012.
Today, she runs her own production company, BonBonLumiere, producing short films including Separate We Come, Separate We Go, starring her Harry Potter co-star David Thewlis (Remus Lupin). Bonnie is enjoying mom-life now, and is busy promoting her book about climate change (‘Go Gently’).
While I can’t say I’ve seen much of Bonnie in the spotlight, I’m at least pleased those gorgeous red locks are still in sight!
Severus Snape
Actor: Alan Rickman
Age: Died at 69
Net worth: $16 million

Movies since: Gambit, The Butler, A Promise, CBGB, A Little Chaos, Eye in the Sky, Alice Through the Looking Glass
This one hurts a little. Alan Rickman unfortunately passed away from pancreatic cancer in January 2016, five years after Harry Potter.
One of the most admired British actors of the past 30 years, Alan was already a household name before his role as Severus Snape. You might have recognized the late actor in landmark roles like Die Hard, Love Actually and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
After his heyday of playing the Potter villain (or shall I say ‘anti-hero’), Alan Rickman went on to star in acclaimed plays for the West End and Broadway. Potter stans can see Severus and Ron (Rupert Grint) together again in the 2013 film CBGB. Rickman also featured in the movies Eye in the Sky and Alice Through the Looking Glass.
Do we miss him after all this time? Always…

‘Harry Potter’ Hidden Clues and Easter Eggs
Fred and George Weasley
Actors: James and Oliver Phelps
Age: 38
Net worth: $2 million (combined)
Married to: Katy Humpage (Oliver); Annika Ostle (James)
Instagram: @jamesphelps_pictures; @oliver_phelps

Movies since: 7 Days: The story of Blind Dave Heeley, Last Night in Soho, Patchwork (James), Cadia: The World Within (James)
Fred and George Weasley look a lot different in real life. They’re pretty grown up and they’ve ditched the red for brown hair – James has even grown it out a little, giving us major Goblet of Fire vibes!
The twins are still identical (shocker!), and fans would be pleased to know that they are still two peas in a pod, working on projects together. They starred in 7 Days: The story of Blind Dave Heeley and Last Night in Soho, while James has taken on a few separate movie roles. Together, they swapped pranks for podcasts with their series Normal Not Normal.
The twins still active with Harry Potter fans, and we love to see it! They participate in events and meetups around the world, and are also supporters of charity work such as the Teenage Cancer Trust. According to Instagram, James is into travelling, and Oliver loves sports.
Luna Lovegood
Actress: Evanna Lynch
Age: 32
Net worth: $4 million
Instagram: @evannalynch

Movies since: G.B.F., My Name Is Emily
TV shows since: Silent Witness
The actress who plays the aloof and sweet Ravenclaw student has a discreet albeit busy career with roles in British TV shows, on stage, and in several short films. Evanna Lynch was even a contestant in season 27 of Dancing with the Stars, where she and her partner finished in third place!
By the looks of her Instagram, Evanna’s passion nowadays includes flowers and yummy desserts, and it appears she’s a real cat-lady (she is so me!). She’s been busy writing her memoir ‘The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting: The Tragedy and The Glory of Growing Up,’ and inspiring others by being an outspoken activist for body positivity.
After waving Luna Lovegood goodbye, she kept her heart wrapped around a Harry Potter star for almost a decade after: she dated Robbie Jarvis (young James Potter) for nine years!
Petunia Dursley
Actress: Fiona Shaw
Age: 65
Net worth: $5 million
Married to: Sonali Deraniyagala

Movies since: The Tree of Life; The White King; Out of Innocence; The Hippopotamus; Lizzie; Colette; Ammonite; Enola Holmes
TV shows since: True Blood; Channel Zero; Baptiste; Killing Eve; Andor; True Detective
Like most mature actors of the series, the actress who played Harry’s wicked aunt already had a long and fructuous career behind her before starring in the wizarding films.
If you’re not familiar with her work, her IMDb might surprise you, because Fiona Shaw has featured far and wide! She’s had a recurring role in True Blood, Killing Eve and most recently, the Star Wars series Andor and True Detective. In fact, Fiona won the 2019 BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her Killing Eve role!
It’s safe to say she’s got the most impressive resume out of the bunch! Fiona Shaw has also starred in movies including Colette, Ammonite and Netflix’s Enola Holmes.
Cho Chang
Actress: Katie Leung
Age: 36
Net worth: $5 million
Instagram: @_katieleung_

Movies since: The Foreigner; Locked Down
TV shows since: White Dragon; Chimerica; The Nest; Dodo; Arcane; The Peripheral; Chemistry of Death; Annika; The Wheel of Time
After playing Harry’s love interest in the series, the kind and clever Cho Chang sort of went MIA. But in real life, the actress has been pretty active.
Her notable mentions include playing alongside Jackie Chan in The Foreigner and Anne Hathaway in Locked Down, and she’s also starred in major TV shows like The Peripheral and Annika.
On social media, you’ll find Kate promoting some of her recent plays, supporting causes (like abortion rights, BLM, Asian communities) and sharing photos of her adorable son. Her hair is also now a lot shorter than her Cho Chang days, and I am here for it!
Dudley Dursley
Actor: Harry Melling
Age: 35
Net worth: $3 million
Dating: Patsy Ferran (rumored)

Movies since: The Lost City of Z; The Keeper; The Old Guard; The Devil All the Time; Say Your Prayers; The Tragedy of Macbeth; Please Baby Please; The Pale Blue Eye
TV shows since: Just William; The Queen’s Gambit
I hated him as Dudley Dursley in Harry Potter, but I can’t say the same for his latest roles. Harry Melling has starred in a few big movies and series since his days as Harry’s bully of a cousin.
Harry has starred in the short-lived BBC series, Just William, and more notably in The Queen’s Gambit alongside Anya Taylor-Joy. Both during and after Harry Potter, he also appeared in several plays and movies like The Devil All the Time and The Tragedy of Macbeth.
Not much to report on his personal life, folks. The actor generally keeps things private. One thing’s for sure though, Harry Melling looks poles apart from his days as Dudley!
Dean Thomas
Actor: Alfred Enoch
Age: 35
Net worth: $3 million

Movies since: Tigers; Executive Order; This Is Christmas; The Critic
TV shows since: Troy: Fall of a City; Trust Me; How to Get Away With Murder; Foundation; The Couple Next Door
The cast of Harry Potter are regularly busying our TV screens, but not as much as this guy! Alfred Enoch is one of the more surprising success stories, as he played a minor character in Potter, but has gone on to land bigger roles.
Notably, Alfred has starred in How To Get Away With Murder as famous heartthrob, Wes Gibbins. He’s also kept a consistent workload on British TV and on stage, in Broadchurch and Sherlock; and has most recently played in The Critic and The Couple Next Door.
It’s been mission impossible trying to uncover more about Alfred, as he’s MIA from any social media (except for the above lovely moment captured by Oliver Phelps) and pretty much stays out of the public eye. Good on him, I suppose.
Cedric Diggory
Actor: Robert Pattinson
Age: 37
Net worth: $100 million
Dating: Suki Waterhouse

Movies since: Twilight; Remember Me; Water for Elephants; The Lost City of Z; The Lighthouse; Tenet; The Devil All the Time; The Batman
Neither Tom, Dick, or Harry knew who Robert Pattinson was when he took on the tragic role of Cedric Diggory. Today, this Harry Potter actor has become an international star and is one of the most famous celebrities in the world.
Everyone loved him when he stepped into the shoes of Edward Cullen in Twilight, although he famously hated the role. Since shelving his vampire fangs, Robert has gone on to play in several riveting productions such as The Lighthouse and Tenet.
His relationships have also been the talk of the town, for dating former co-star, Kristen Stewart, getting engaged to FKA Twigs and more recently making Suki Waterhouse his fiancée. You know what I didn’t see coming, though? Robert Pattinson as Batman. But he absolutely nailed it and it’s actually his biggest and most critically-acclaimed performance to date.
Minerva McGonagall
Actress: Maggie Smith
Age: 89
Net worth: $20 million

Movies since: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel; Quartet; The Lady in the Van; A Boy Called Christmas; The Miracle Club
TV shows since: Downton Abbey
Professor McGonagall is a legend. But Maggie Smith is a Goddess. Indeed, this almost-90-year-old British icon has been an acclaimed actress long before she appeared as the sharp but good-hearted witch in Harry Potter.
Among many other on-screen and on-stage projects, Maggie Smith has played yet another iconic role as the cunning and witty Dowager Countess Violet Crawley on the award-winning Downton Abbey. In 2019, the actress returned to the London stage for the first time in twelve years in A German Life; and more recently, she starred in the comedy drama, The Miracle Club.
To highlight just how iconic this lady is, Maggie Smith is officially a Dame, a winner of two Academy Awards and five BAFTA Awards.
After warming our hearts for over a decade, the stars of Harry Potter are now proudly continuing their passion and working on their talent.
The cast are all grown up, living their dreams, and raising awareness for important causes – quite magical in its own right if you ask me!
