Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck just had their first red carpet reunion since finalizing their divorce earlier this year — and let me tell you, the internet is in shambles.
The exes showed up together for the Kiss Of The Spider Woman premiere, and naturally, everyone’s asking the same thing: Wait… are they back together?
“One more marriage I know they got it in them,” one X user wrote. While another commented, “This is the mess I love to see They are made for each other.”
After all, Bennifer has always been Hollywood’s favorite on-again-off-again couple. From their early 2000s engagement to rekindling their romance in 2021 and eventually getting married, these two have had more plot twists than a Netflix drama.
But this latest reunion? Yeah, it *might* not be what you think…
So… Are J.Lo and Ben Back Together?
Nope. Sorry, hopeless romantics — this reunion is (probably) strictly business.
Ben Affleck isn’t just tagging along for fun. He’s an executive producer on Kiss Of The Spider Woman through his production company, Artists Equity, while J.Lo stars in the film. Translation: it makes perfect sense for them to show up together and get people talking. A little PR buzz never hurt anyone (especially when you’ve got a movie to promote).
At least we know the former couple are getting along. Ben praised Jennifer’s performance in the movie saying, “Jennifer is in a role that she’s born to play. She’s amazing in the movie. I just can’t wait for the audience to see this movie. She was gonna die or be great. She was going to give it her all, and she did. She worked enormously hard. This role you get to see, like, all of her many gifts.”
But Something Felt… Off
Even with all the smiles for the cameras, fans noticed things seemed awkward. At one point, Ben was filmed talking passionately in J.Lo’s ear while she forced a polite smile, aka, the definition of “I’m fine” energy.
Body language expert Judi James told Daily Mail that Affleck looked “animated” and tried to “appear joyful,” while J.Lo had a “wide, teeth-baring [smile] that shows little sign of actual joy.” In other words, this looked forced AF.
The Verdict: Probably Not a Bennifer Comeback
So while their reunion definitely sent the internet spiraling, it’s looking highly doubtful that J.Lo and Ben are romantically back on. This red carpet moment? Purely professional… and maybe a little strategic.
Love might not be in the air, but movie promotion? Oh, absolutely.
