What Happened to Ariana at the Wicked: For Good Premiere?
So, Ariana Grande pulled up to the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore this Thursday (Nov. 13) expecting a cute, magical Glinda moment… and instead got jumped on the carpet by a man who literally wrapped his arms around her out of nowhere.
Different angles on social media show the moment he rushed her. Ari looks visibly terrified, and honestly, after everything she’s survived (including the Manchester bombing trauma), it was genuinely hard to watch. This was no fan behavior. This was downright dangerous and insane.
And the plot twist?
Cynthia Erivo is the one who stepped in like a real-life Elphaba ready to throw hands. Meanwhile the actual security team looked like they were still buffering. Someone make it make sense!

What Happened After? Was He Arrested?
Ariana, being the professional queen she is, kept doing press like nothing happened, even though everyone else was still gasping for air.
they should have a line like this at every premiere where you go up to each of them one bye one, get your signature / photo and then go back behind the barricade pic.twitter.com/iSeBbRP7sd

The man, identified as ‘Johnson Wen,’ was tackled and escorted off the yellow carpet. But instead of lying low, he immediately hopped onto Instagram posting the video of himself being taken down with the caption, “Dear Ariana Grande, Thank you for letting me jump on the yellow carpet with you.”
Like, sir… be for real.
He also uploaded another freaky video earlier, saying, “I feel like I’m in a dream. That’s my best friend Ariana Grande and I’m gonna meet her.”
Which… yikes.
Wen later posted that he was “free after being arrested,” though reports now claim he’s been officially charged with being a public nuisance in Singapore. If convicted, he could face a fine of up to S$2,000 (about $1,540). Local media also says Wen plans to plead guilty.
Has He Done It Before?
Ohhhh yes. Because apparently this is his thing. Johnson Wen has a whole history of ambushing celebrities, and not in the cute “oops I ran into them at Starbucks” way. Here’s the track record:
Katy Perry’s Tour
Johnson Wen rushed Katy during Australian stop of The Lifetimes Tour, trying to get close before being pulled away by security. Same energy: overexcited, boundary-less, can’t read a room.
The Weeknd’s Tour
He also tried getting onto the stage area during Abel’s show, leaving staff scrambling to block him. Another day, another messy attempt at “meeting” his fave.
Chainsmokers Performance
Yep, even The Chainsmokers aren’t safe. He approached the performance zone mid-show, causing security to intervene again.
At this point, he’s basically doing a world tour of bad decisions. If someone could put him behind bars, that would be great.
