Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has broken his silence on his family drama, making it clear he’s not interested in fixing things.
In a series of Instagram posts, the 26-year-old had us shook on Monday (Jan 19) evening when he wrote, “I do not want to reconcile with my family,” saying he’d stayed quiet for years but felt pushed to speak after ongoing stories about him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, kept appearing in the press. “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he added.
In his statement, Brooklyn accused his parents of repeatedly crossing boundaries, claiming his mom “hijacked my first dance with my wife” at their wedding and has “repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.” He said Nicola has been “consistently disrespected by my family,” and claimed that his parents prioritize protecting “Brand Beckham” over genuine relationships.

Brooklyn’s Wedding Dress Claim Has Fans Side-Eyeing
But one part of Brooklyn’s statement is really making people pause: the wedding dress drama.
He claimed his mom, Victoria Beckham, “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour… forcing her to urgently find a new dress.” The issue? Fans quickly resurfaced a Vogue feature stating Nicola had been working with Valentino “for over a year” on her wedding gown. Like… a year.
“Peltz’s custom wedding look is the culmination of a year’s worth of conversations with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s team, two trips to the Rome HQ, and two U.S. fittings. The head seamstresses even journeyed to Miami to make sure every detail was immaculate on the big day,” the feature read.
Of course, the internet did what it does best.
“So Which Is It?” — Why Fans Say It’s Not Adding Up
A lot of people are straight-up confused. If Nicola spent a year designing her Valentino dress, how could Victoria pulling out last minute have forced a scramble?
Some fans are calling cap, saying the timeline doesn’t match and accusing Brooklyn and Nicola of stretching the truth to fit the feud narrative.
Basically: If the dress was already locked in, what exactly was “cancelled”?
#BrooklynBeckham caught in a lie. So his mum “canceled Nicola’s dress at the eleventh hour” yet per Vogue, Nicola was working with Valentino for a YEAR on her dress. Which is it?

Such a spoiled ungrateful brat. #VictoriaBeckham #DavidBeckham

It was never at the 11th hour lmao. It was a custom Couture Valentino, a custom wedding dress from a large fashion house takes MONTHS to curate, the Designers themselves said they were working on it for a year! Nicola’s plan to villainize the Beckhams has a lot of plot holes 😅 pic.twitter.com/GeDFEZevQD

The lies are starting to come out… No 11th hour there. pic.twitter.com/1I2n2lsm40

But Others Are Defending the Peltz Couple
Not everyone thinks Brooklyn is lying. Plenty of fans pointed out that most brides wear multiple dresses — ceremony dress, reception dress, after-party dress, the whole Beyoncé tour.
Nicola could’ve easily planned to wear a Victoria Beckham design at some point during the wedding weekend, even if her main gown was Valentino.
So yeah, both things can technically be true.
“Do you really think the bride in a wedding that cost MILLIONS only had one dress???,” one X user wrote. Another said, “I am thinking there was more than one dress. Which is a very common thing, to have more than one wedding dress.”
Still… The Internet Isn’t Fully Buying It
Whether it’s a miscommunication, missing context, or just messy family drama spilling into public view, this detail has become a major sticking point. And until someone clears it up? Fans are going to keep dissecting every quote like it’s a true-crime doc.
