Jenna Ortega helping Winona Ryder against the paparazzi is the sweetest thing you’ll see today.

When the costars attended the 81st Venice Film Festival to promote their upcoming film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, photographers swarmed the adorable pair to take a snapshot. Winona, decked out in an all-black outfit (to channel Lydia Deetz, ofc) and wearing dark sunglasses was (disrespectfully) demanded by photographers to take off her shades as they flashed their cameras.

Winona, being the absolute sweetheart that she is, looked totally uncomfortable, but bestie Jenna Ortega was there to save the day. As seen in the viral clip, Winona timidly turns to Jenna, and the Wednesday star mutters, “no, you don’t have to.”

Round of applause please!! Can I get an AMEN?! Preach MOTHER Jenna!

It’s so heartwarming to see the younger generation giving support to older legends like Queen Winona. Let’s not forget Winona is from an era when the paparazzi basically owned celebs. She clearly felt inclined or even pressured to comply, but thankfully, Jenna stood up for her and basically told the paps, you don’t own us.

Girls supporting girls, I love to see it.

And so do users on Threads! Here’s what they had to say:

pattilloyd413 wrote, “This is one area where GenZ can teach us GenXers something. Winona Ryder grew up in the spotlight and back in our day, girls were expected to “play nice” all the time. Hooray for personal autonomy!”

rookiemum said, “I love when Gen z teaches Gen X what’s up. I am an elder millenial and learned a lot from Gen Z and millenia”

melanielaforceofficial wrote, “Gen Z helps us Gen X folk heal from decades of people-pleasing”

I think we can we all agree that Jenna Ortega is just an all-round wonderful human being. And she’s fashionably iconic, too! Check out her outfits at the Venice Film Festival so far – each ‘fit honors iconic characters from the original 1988 Beetlejuice movie:
