Coachella is always a fever dream of reunions and plot twists. It’s only Week 1 and we’ve already seen Hailey Bieber and Billie Eilish proving their besties (who knew?); Kylie and Timothée giving us some real good PDA; and Patrick Schwarzenegger raving to Lisa’s set.
But the most unexpected moment of this weekend came when Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran had a surprise mini-reunion, a few years after a judge granted her a restraining order against him.
On April 13, Day 2 of Coachella, Chris was spotted vibing with his crew when he turned to see Karrueche, who was all smiles and laughing. Cameras caught the two chatting for a few minutes in what looked like a genuinely chill and friendly vibe. No drama, no awkwardness; just two exes reconnecting like it’s 2014 all over again. Naturally, the video went viral within minutes.
Fans Flood Karrueche’s Comments, Urging Her to Get Back with Chris
The internet truly has no chill. I mean, I was happy to see Chris and Karrueche sharing a moment of peace, especially after years of drama. But some fans still have a soft spot for Chris and Kae, and are hoping this reunion means they could get back together.
“Pssst hey … take him back it’s ok,” one user wrote on Karrueche’s latest IG post. While another stan of the ex-couple wrote, “Girl go get our man back.”
More fans continued with similar comments, writing, “Go back to Breezy, he loves you”…”We love you and don’t judge”…”Girl Take him back if he hit you up please!.”
But let’s be real for a sec. Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran’s history is not exactly rainbows and butterflies. While I’m super stoked to see these two on good terms, a lot actually went down back in the day.
Chris Brown and Karrueche’s Turbulent History
Chris and Karrueche dated on and off from 2011 to 2015, and their relationship was hella messy. I’m talking cheating scandals (involving Chris’ infamous ex, Rihanna), public feuds, and a whole baby reveal situation. Yeah, Chris fathered a child while they were still together, which understandably led to Karrueche calling it quits.
After the breakup, things got heated: Karrueche filed a five-year restraining order against Chris in 2017, citing alleged abuse and threats. At the time, Karrueche said Chris made her life “hell” and would “hit” her and “threaten to kill” her. It was heavy, and fans thought that was the definitive end of their chapter.
Which is why this Coachella sighting has people shook. Some are raising eyebrows, saying we shouldn’t romanticize toxic exes linking up, while others are hoping it’s a sign of growth and healing.
All I can say is, Karrueche, sis, go ahead and block those comments, fans are way too much in their feels and it’s getting outta hand…
