Barry, if you’re reading this, now’s the time to look away. Sabrina is not holding back when it comes to throwing shade at you!
The Espresso singer kicked off her “Short n’ Sweet” tour in Dublin, Ireland on March 3, and let’s just say, she was in the mood for some savagery.
Performing at the 3Arena, the 25-year-old pop sensation decided to take a playful swipe at her ex, Irish actor Barry Keoghan. Without a single ounce of shame, and in full girl-power mode, Sabrina Carpenter put her ex on the spot right in his hometown.

Before giving a performance of Please Please Please (a song literally about the Saltburn star), Sabrina told the crowd, “Dublin, it’s so lovely to be here. You all look and sound amazing.” She continued with the punchline, “But my goodness, these Irish boys are hard work.”
Get it, girl!
Carpenters in the crowd immediately caught the cheeky reference and erupted in cheers.
Why Did Sabrina Throw Shade at Barry?
For those not in the loop, rumor had it that Barry cheated on Sabrina (how very dare he!) with influencer Breckie Hill during their year-long relationship. Both parties shut down the rumors, but it seems Sabrina is still mad at her notorious ex.
Like any girlie who’s in the mood for revenge, what better place to throw shade at him than in his very own motherland (and I oop!)?

Sabrina and Barry’s Whirlwind Romance
Sab and Barry instantly became the world’s it-couple when they were rumored to be dating in 2023. Once they made their relationship official by appearing together at a Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty and the Met Gala in 2024, fans became obsessed with the celebrity couple. The pair fueled further romance rumors when Barry starred in Sabrina’s Please Please Please music video, a track where Sab begs him to not let her down.

Fast-forward to December 2024, and the duo called it quits, citing hectic schedules. Following all the cheating rumors, Barry faced intense online scrutiny from Carpenters and fans alike, which forced him to deactivate his Instagram. Addressing the cyberbullying (which involved targeting his son), the actor wrote in a post, “I can only sit and take so much.”
Sabrina, on the other hand, seems to be channeling her feelings into her performances. Her Dublin concert included more than one subtle dig at her ex. As seen in footage captured by fans, she had the entire arena belting out the line, “I’m sorry for your loss” during her hit Feather. Was this another nod to her past with Barry?
