Update: Sorry, Swifties and Little Monsters, but it’s been confirmed that Taylor Swift is not on Lady Gaga’s track How Bad Do U Want Me, despite all the fan theories. I know, it sucks!

Original: Mayhem, Lady Gaga’s long-awaited seventh studio album, is finally here! The pop icon is serving a mix of genres—romantic ballads, rock, and dance-pop—all wrapped up in the chaotic energy promised by the title.

But one track, in particular, is causing an even bigger frenzy: a rumored collab with none other than Taylor Swift. (Yes, you read that right!)

Fans who listened to How Bad Do U Want Me couldn’t help but notice some serious Taylor Swift vibes—both in the songwriting style and some suspiciously familiar background vocals. And let’s just say… Swifties and Little Monsters are officially losing it!

Fans Are Connecting the Dots Between Taylor and Gaga’s Sounds

You’re probably thinking: these two have NOTHING in common! But hold up—this wouldn’t be the wildest thing ever. Gaga lives for experimenting with different genres, and on this track, it kinda feels like she was intentionally channeling Taylor’s signature style.

Fans were quick to point out that it’s not just the instrumentals (which give major Gorgeous from Reputation vibes), but the lyrics also scream 1989 energy.

Even critics from Page Six and The Guardian weighed in, saying, “How Bad Do U Want Me” is more ‘1989’-coded than any ‘Taylor’s Version’ vault track,” and calling it “a little too obviously influenced by Taylor’s melodic style.”

And, of course, the background vocals—which sound suspiciously like Miss Tay herself—sent fans into full-on detective mode. Some even tried to isolate the vocals and used AI to create Taylor’s version of the song to prove their wildest theories. (FBI, you’re missing out on a serious case here.)

Collab Confirmed or Just Another Perfect Illusion?

With all these coincidences—and an (unofficial) Spotify account dropping a not-so-subtle hint—should we start celebrating?

Well… hate to break it to you, but there’s nothing officially confirmed yet. (And let’s be real, that was probably just an overenthusiastic intern running that Spotify account.)

Even though recent interactions between the two pop queens are fueling the collab rumors, neither has addressed it (yet), and Taylor isn’t officially credited on the track. But hey, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s impossible.

At the end of the day, this whole saga could just be Little Monsters stirring up hype to get a few extra streams from Swifties.
