So, imagine opening your phone and finding out the White House just used your song for a video about immigration raids. That’s what happened to Sabrina Carpenter when they slapped Juno over a clip of authorities rounding people up — and she absolutely snapped.
The pop star didn’t mince words, calling the video “evil and disgusting.” Then she doubled down on X, writing, “This video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.”

And just like that, stan Twitter turned into The Hunger Games.
Cue the fandom civil war: Carpenters vs Swifties
Carpenter stans popped off. They praised her for actually speaking up and refusing to let politicians hijack her work, calling her a “queen” with a “backbone.”
But here’s where things get twisted, Sabrina’s fans are also using her post as ammo to drag Taylor Swift — claiming Taylor stays quiet on political stuff, that she only speaks when it benefits her, and accusing her of being MAGA-adjacent because she hasn’t made a recent political statement.
see @taylorswift13 it’s not hard to tell the shitty ass admin to not use ur music… unless ur okay with it? https://t.co/ixoYVjb8ad

Of course, Swifties were not letting that fly. They came back swinging, saying Sabrina was being performative and feeding the algorithm by publicly responding instead of handling it behind the scenes. Their argument? Sabrina’s post gave the White House even more attention and boosted post engagement — the exact opposite of what she intended.
And as expected, Carpenters fought back:
the concept of trying to frame sabrina carpenters outspokenness as a social failing so that taylor swift can continue to stay silent https://t.co/XWm97PR3ZV pic.twitter.com/ikf50n0A6g

swifties switched up on sabrina quick over something that had nothing to do with taylor. but they knew the optics looked bad. mind you brina did that with zero intentions towards taylor- that’s just her moral compass. but a hit dog will holler.

i always hate this stan wars bs that pits women against each other but some of you have lost your minds. attacking sabrina for standing up & pretending her activism means nothing just so you can be the best taywarrior & defend taylor’s silence is unbelievably out of touch

Why are they beefing? Taylor and Sabrina are literally friends
The most chaotic part of all this? Sabrina isn’t even Taylor’s rival. They’re friends.
Taylor brought Sabrina on the Eras Tour, they’ve appeared at events together, Sabrina joined Taylor on The Life of a Showgirl, and Taylor has openly supported Sabrina’s career. These girls are not sitting on opposite ends of a pop arena throwing spears. They’re literally chilling and making music.
But stan culture loves a girl-on-girl rivalry, especially when there’s politics involved. One post leads to 50 subtweets, someone even drags Olivia Rodrigo in to it, and suddenly we’re in WWIII over two blondes who probably text each other memes and voice notes.
