Let’s be real — who doesn’t have that one aunt who drops inconvenient comments during family dinners? (A simple reminder to brace yourselves for the holiday chaos!)
Now, picture that on a global scale. That’s basically what Ariana Grande has been dealing with since day one of her career, and it’s only gotten worse during the press tour for Wicked.
The pop icon, who’s no stranger to people speculating about her looks and procedures, is now facing even more heat. Lately, the internet has been spiraling into discussions about her mental health and weight loss.

In an interview with Crazy Sally, Ari got emotional about the pressure to look perfect and how she navigates the constant comments about her body.
When asked how she deals with it, Ariana dropped a truth bomb, saying she has felt like “a specimen on a Petri dish” since she was 17.
The actress and singer, on the verge of tears, didn’t hold back, admitting she’s aware of everything people say about her: “I have heard it all. I have heard every version of it, of what’s wrong with me, and then you fix it and it’s wrong for different reasons.”
The internet, as always, has been doing the most, by questioning Ariana’s physical health and sharing side-by-side before and after clips.

Addressing that, Ariana kept it real: “It’s hard to protect yourself from that noise. It’s something that is uncomfortable no matter what scale you’re experiencing it on.”
The actress behind Glinda added: “There is a comfortability that we shouldn’t have, at all, commenting on others’ looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes, or health, or how they present themselves. From what you’re wearing, to your body, to your face, to your everything.”
Preach, Ari!

Ariana also pointed out how harmful these comments can be, reflecting: “It’s dangerous, for both parties involved. I’m really lucky to have the support system that I have and to know and trust that I’m beautiful.”
And that, you are, girl!

The best-selling singer went on to say she’s officially over all the drama: “I just don’t invite it in anymore,” and added, “It’s not welcome. I have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love on, I have so much love, and it’s not invited, so I don’t leave space for it anymore.”
And she wrapped it up with a mic drop: “No one has the right to say sh*t.” Period.
