Demi rocked an off-the-shoulder, pearl-white Vivienne Westwood gown that had fans instantly thinking… Miley?!
Yup, fans were quick to point out that Demi’s dress looks a lot like the one Miley Cyrus wore when she married Liam Hemsworth back in 2018 (those were the days, eh?).
Same corset vibe, same off-the-shoulder elegance, same silky goddess energy. Same Vivienne Westwood.
I mean there’s no denying the Disney duo’s dresses are *exactly* alike.
So, Did Demi Copy Miley’s Wedding Dress?
Before you scream “copy-paste,” let me be clear: they’re not the same dress. Miley’s version was made-to-order and cost $8,600, while Demi’s was fully custom. “When I was thinking about what dress style I wanted, I often found myself coming back to Vivienne’s designs—specifically how the silhouettes really complement the curves of your body and her use of corsets,” Demi told Vogue.
She even said she found inspo from an older Westwood gown online and worked closely with the brand over five fittings. “We were not only able to work off that [initial] inspiration, but we added touches that really make this dress so special to me,” Demi added.
The final fit? A structured corset, draped silk satin, and a train to die for—plus a cathedral-style veil that totally gave Old Hollywood glam.
And FYI, Vivienne Westwood’s bridal silhouettes are iconic for a reason—Hailey Bieber even wore one to her rehearsal dinner.
So yeah, it’s pretty clear Demi wasn’t out here “copying” Miley—nor did she wear the same gown as the End of the World star. Heck, she definitely didn’t “gift” it to her either. Demi’s custom ‘Aubrey’ gown was totally her own vibe and a choice that felt good for her.
Are Miley and Demi Still Friends?
Lowkey yes. The two had a sweet moment back in 2020 during Miley’s Bright Minded IG Live. “We’ve been friends for so long,” Miley said, calling Demi a light during dark times. “We can not talk forever and then some BS goes down, and I know you’re the person I want to reach out to.”
