For literally years, the internet has been convinced that there’s some secret feud happening between Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift. And now, Olivia is finally speaking on all the speculation surrounding their relationship.
While appearing on Popcast ahead of her new album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, Olivia opened up about the pressure of constantly having people analyze her every move — including the endless theories about her and Taylor.
“I don’t read much about it,” Olivia said. “I think that’s part of the territory, part of what comes with the job. There aren’t enough hours in the day. If I dove into every detective work the internet tries to do, right or wrong, about my life and relationships, I’d go crazy.”
Yeah, Liv basically brushed off any kind of celebrity feud and made it clear she’s not spending her time deep-diving into TikTok breakdowns or fan-made theories.

Why Do People Think Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift Were Feuding?
The rumors about Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift supposedly falling out have been circulating for years, and it all started after Olivia went from being one of Taylor’s biggest fans to suddenly never mentioning her anymore.
When Olivia first blew up, she constantly talked about Taylor being one of her biggest inspirations. The two even interacted publicly online, exchanged gifts, and fans loved the idea of Olivia being Taylor’s “musical daughter.”
But things noticeably shifted in 2021 after Olivia revealed that Taylor’s song Cruel Summer inspired the bridge of Deja Vu. Soon after, Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, and St. Vincent were retroactively given songwriting credits on the track — which sparked massive online debate about whether Olivia had been blindsided by the situation.
Fans then started noticing that Olivia stopped publicly talking about Taylor altogether, which only fueled the speculation even more. The theories intensified even further after Olivia released The Grudge in 2023, with listeners convinced the emotional song was about a fallout with an older mentor figure. Although Olivia never confirmed who inspired the track, the internet immediately linked it to Taylor.
Is the Feud Between Olivia and Taylor Really Over?
Reconciliation rumors recently surfaced after both Olivia and Taylor were spotted leaving a Paul McCartney concert in Los Angeles.
Suddenly timelines were flooded with people debating whether the “feud” was secretly over… or if there was ever even a feud in the first place.

Olivia clearly seems unfazed by all of it though. In the interview, she talked about how exhausting it would be to constantly respond to every rumor people create online.
Olivia Also Addressed The “Babydoll Dress” Criticism
The Taylor speculation wasn’t the only thing Olivia touched on during the interview either.
She also spoke about the weird criticism she gets over her appearance and style choices — including the discourse around her signature babydoll dresses.
“I have worn outfits that are like, maybe revealing on stage, which is my right. I felt fun and comfortable in that. And like that wasn’t inappropriate, but me, fully covered up in a dress that people deem to be like childlike, was inappropriate,” she said on the podcast.
Olivia basically shrugged that off, making it clear she’s learned public commentary is just part of being a massive pop star in 2026.

At this point, it feels like every single Olivia interview somehow circles back to Taylor theories, hidden clues, or internet speculation. But if Olivia’s latest comments prove anything, it’s that she’s probably a lot less invested in the drama than the internet is.
