Harry Styles has been a busy boy. Between promoting his new album (Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally), getting engaged to Zoë Kravitz, and touring again, you’d think he’d be too occupied to randomly expose one of the most personal details imaginable in public. But nope. Harry decided to wake up and casually tell the world what song was playing when he lost his virginity — yep, your boy is being a comedian again.
While presenting an award to Thom Yorke at the Ivor Novello Awards on Thursday (May 21), Harry started talking about how much Radiohead means to him. He explained that seeing the band perform in Berlin last year actually inspired him to start touring again. Which is already very Harry-coded behavior because we all know he’s been a massive Radiohead fan forever.
But then he took the story in a direction absolutely nobody expected.
Harry casually told the audience that he lost his virginity while listening to Radiohead’s Talk Show Host in the background. And then — somehow making it even worse/better — joked that technically he lost it during the song’s intro. “I lost my virginity to the intro of Talk Show Host,” Harry told the crowd.
The way he casually said that like it’s the most normal sentence ever???
For context, the intro to Talk Show Host is only around 10 seconds before the lyrics kick in. So yeah, do the math girl. Harry basically roasted himself in front of an entire room of people.
Peak British oversharing, honestly. We truly did not need to know this information… but I’m also weirdly glad we do.
Harry also called Thom Yorke his hero during the speech, which honestly makes this story even funnier somehow. Imagine being such a fan of a band that they soundtrack both your career inspiration and your most awkward teenage moment.
Harry Actually Spoke About Losing His Virginity Before
This isn’t even the first time Harry’s opened up about his first time having sex. Years ago, he admitted he completely panicked afterward because he thought he’d gotten the girl pregnant.
“The first time I had sex, I was scared I got the girl pregnant,” he told Cosmopolitan in 2012. He continued, “And that was despite the fact we were safe. Luckily, we were fine.”
“I would never risk not wearing a condom, it’s too much of a risk. If you’re not ready for a child, then don’t risk it,” the One Direction star concluded.

If you’re nosy like me and live a parasocial life, then that’s the question you immediately asked after this story went viral.
Looking back at our Harry dating history deep dive, there’s a chance it could have been Caroline Flack since she’s the first public relationship we really know about from the early One Direction days. But realistically, it also could’ve been someone completely unknown from before fame.
Harry once even admitted to Glamour that joining One Direction completely changed his dating life.
“If I wasn’t in the band I reckon I’d be a virgin,” the Aperture singer confessed back in 2011. Which is actually such a wild quote considering he became one of the biggest heartthrobs on the planet almost overnight after The X Factor.
Either way, Harry dropping this information so casually during an award speech is exactly why the internet can never stay normal around him for more than five minutes.
